The Beaches

Within a few minutes drive of Villa Makai, you will find several of the most beautiful white sand beaches in Costa Rica including Playa Carmen, Playa Santa Teresa, Playa Hermosa and Mal Pais. Lined by a lush tropical jungle, these gorgeous beaches are known for their consistent surf throughout the year.

The Restaurants

Santa Teresa is quickly becoming known as the gastronomic capital of Costa Rica. There are many local Costa Rican ‘Sodas’ in Santa Teresa as well as many delicious international restaurants specializing in Italian, Spanish, Argentinean and Asian cuisine. We will provide you with a list of all the delightful restaurants in town that you must try during your stay.

Santa Teresa truly is a paradise where both visitors and residents can enjoy a high level of well-being.

The Wildlife

Santa Teresa and the surrounding area boast a wide variety of wildlife. While you are staying at Villa Makai, you may have the opportunity to see white face capuchin monkeys, howler monkeys, coatis, iguanas as well as many other local animals. There are also several species of birds in the area including woodpeckers, magpie- jays, pelicans and hummingbirds.
