“Absolutely stunning house and view. We loved sitting in the pool staring off at the ocean in the distance. You really are up in nature here, and that’s about all you’ll hear. It’s the perfect house to just relax and decompress while listening to the monkeys and birds. Martin was an amazing host, very responsive and even brought some toys over for our 1.5 year old that was traveling with us. I can’t recommend this place enough! We would absolutely stay here again and again.”

Beautiful place, we saw more wildlife sitting in the backyard than we saw during a hike in the jungle at a nearby national park. Very private and Martin was quick to offer us suggestions. It was really easy to check-in. We love this area of Santa Teresa too. It is walking distance to the Bakery and other great restaurants. It’s not as chaotic as Santa Teresa Beach which is a little north but, if you enjoy walking (up a big hill) you will find everything is quite close. We highly recommend that you try some food at a Soda. It’s cheap, authentic, and delicious.

This is one of my favorite places I have stayed at in Santa Teresa and I have been coming for years. The location is perfect, quiet, beautiful view, and a true Costa Rican experience. You are a minute from all the action but without the noise and dust. The house is beautiful and could not be any better. Martin is there for you when you need anything and he goes the extra length for you making sure you are having the best time. We have stayed on the beach, the main road, in town, and this has been the best location. Privacy and security in a beautiful space. If your dates are available, don’t wait because this books up fast.

Villa Makai is an amazing destination that surpassed all expectations we had for the perfect tropical vacation. Martin was extremely helpful in planning our week and always available for questions. If I could give Martin more than 5 stars I would! The house is amazing with the very open feel, great backyard, and great views. There was cleaning everyday so the house was never dirty! Also, anything that our group was looking to do, we would reach out to Martin and he would arrange it for us immediately. So hospitable and gave us great tips around town. „Santa Teresa is magical and this house is the best way to experience the area. Villa Makai is just as you see in the pictures but better! It’s in a perfect location, tucked away in the quietness jungle while being just steps away from heart of Santa Teresa’s best restaurants and beaches. You won't find a more thoughtful, kind, and accommodating host than Martin. The house is stylish and comfortable and the location on the hillside is idyllic, not to mention cooler than town when the weather heats up. But truly it was our host, his lovely family, and their recommendations of activities and outings that really made the trip. With fully equipped kitchen, grill, pool, AC, etc., house was home away from home (only better). We will definitely be back soon!
